As a six- or seven-figure entrepreneur, there are several things that you need to ace. You understand that starting and running a successful business requires top entrepreneurial and leadership qualities. Being top of the game can be the difference between your business crumbling and being a 7-figure enterprise.
One such quality is proper time management. Being a good time manager ensures you get the most out of your days and your business grows optimally. The saying time is money might have been used for ages, but its importance is still felt in the present. Every second in your business is a chance to exploit an opportunity.
However, time management can be challenging, especially if you have many tasks. This can lead to a messed-up schedule. So how do you improve your time management? Here are some tips:
1. Start Your Day Earlier Than Everyone Else

Time is a limited resource, so try to use it wisely. One of the best ways to ensure you are using your time well is by waking up early. It’s as simple as that, the more hours you are awake, the more time you have to work. If you wake up early, you can use those hours to check and respond to any email sent after the close of business. This will ensure that you don’t carry any work from the previous day into the office the next day.
Also, you’ll be able to get a head start on other duties before they pile up. And if you start working early in the morning, then you’ll have more time during the day for other tasks and projects. However, you should ensure that you still get enough sleep even if you decide to wake up earlier. This is because lack of enough rest can lead to burnout, affecting your productivity.
2. Conduct a Time Audit

A time audit is exactly what it sounds like: a period where you write down how you spend your day. It might be as brief or as long as necessary, but at the very least, two weeks are advised to have enough data to work with in your audit.
Once you’ve finished your time audit, look for patterns in how you spend your time. Then set goals based on what you learned from the audit. If you found that most of your days were focused on email and phone calls, set up a plan that says, “spend less than two hours per day on email.” Identifying areas that want improvement is more straightforward once you know where your time is spent. It also ensures you allocate enough hours to other tasks in your business.
3. Schedule Everything

Managing multiple projects is challenging as a 6/7 figure entrepreneur, and losing track of what must be completed next is simple. You have a business to run, but your family and personal life need attention. To balance it, you must schedule to ensure you’re getting things done without losing track of what matters most.
If possible, schedule everything in advance, so you know what’s coming up and how much time it will take. This will help prioritize tasks because they’ll be on the calendar already. Additionally, have a weekly review session with yourself or someone else who can help hold you accountable, like an assistant. If something on your plate should be done but isn’t getting done, get rid of it or delegate it immediately so that it doesn’t start piling up into something unmanageable later on down the line.
4. The 2-Minute Rule

The 2-minute Rule is a productivity hack that says if something takes less than 2 minutes to do, you should do it right now instead of adding it to your to-do list. For example, if you have an email in your inbox that you need to reply to, but it only takes 30 seconds to respond, then do it right now instead of putting it off. Or if you see someone at work who needs help with something, but they can wait 5 minutes for an answer, then help them out now instead of putting them off until tomorrow.
So many little things come up throughout the day that take less than 2 minutes to deal with, and yet we still put them off until later because we don’t want them interrupting our “real” work. But those small tasks add up over time and become a massive distraction from our real work when they’re left undone too long.
5. Automate Tasks with Apps

Many entrepreneurs say that automating tasks is one of the best ways to improve your productivity. This isn’t just about hiring virtual assistants or outsourcing repetitive tasks like data entry or social media management. It’s also about finding ways to automate processes within your business so that you can focus on areas that require more creativity and strategic thinking.
Here are some examples:
- Â Set up auto-responders for new customers, so they don’t have to wait for you to get back to them with an answer.
- Â Automate your email marketing campaign to send emails without spending time manually.
- Â Utilize social media automation tools to schedule posts in advance so they post at the best times each day or week.
- Use Google Calendar to schedule appointments with clients and keep track of events such as speaking engagements, interviews, and conferences where you’ll discuss business.
6. Take Regular Breaks for Brainstorming

Taking regular breaks is one of the essential time management tips for 6/7 figure entrepreneurs, and it allows you to recharge and refocus on your work. When you’re working, your brain can get tired from repeatedly thinking about the same thing, making it challenging to develop new ideas and solutions for problems.
During a break, your brain has a chance to rest up, which allows it to be more creative when you get back to work. Taking breaks also helps prevent burnout, which can happen if you’ve been working on something for too long without taking a break.
Conclusion
Six or seven figures don’t just materialize out of thin air. Many entrepreneurs have made their dreams come true through hard work, vision, and dedication. The entrepreneurial lifestyle is not without its difficulties, but it is rewarding. Scaling requires systems and procedures that work. And for your systems and actions to work, you must ensure that you schedule them properly and manage your time properly to optimize the results.
